Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She's an ESPN anchor on news, and she hosts SportsNation occasionally. She was hired by ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her get her first job as a an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami, where she was a producer of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. After this it was announced that the CBS affiliate in St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. In 2009 she moved in Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Her stories covered immigration as well as drug trafficking and other issues on both the Texas as well as the Mexico border. Also, she was the Spanish reporter for the newscast at 5 p.m. and anchor and reporter of the newscast from 9 p.m. in English and again a Spanish reporter for 10 p.m. In addition, she was an anchor for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate, where she was able to take on other responsibility. She also did segments on the Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She was promoted as a sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She also played the role for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network as well as Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz Mexico. Eventually, they settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22, 1985. There is a sister. In 1992 her family left Mexico and relocated to Miami. Then, shortly afterward the family split up, and in the year 1995, Fabio Fajardo remarried. He died of kidney cancer in 2006. The couple stayed in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer in which she was offered an opportunity to work. Antonietta was a senior in high school with an idea of what she thought her future would be like, visited Mount Union University to see what she could get out of the college. In the end, she fell in love with the school. The university offered her the opportunity to study a major. After high school, she graduated and was enrolled in media studies at the college. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU and WRMU, which she's a part. They developed a close connection. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to have self-confidence and was deeply moved by his enthusiasm for journalism.
